Rain Garden Reveal & Environmental Impact

On October 26, 2024, The Bottom District community came together to celebrate the unveiling of our beautiful new Rain Garden! This event marked a significant milestone in our journey toward creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly neighborhood. With residents, volunteers, and community leaders in attendance, the celebration showcased not only the natural beauty of our new green space but also its positive impact on the environment.

The Rain Garden, designed to absorb and filter stormwater, plays a crucial role in reducing runoff, minimizing flood risks, and supporting native plants and wildlife. This bioswale-inspired garden will help improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and contribute to a cleaner, greener Bottom District.

This project would not have been possible without the support of our incredible partners. Special thanks go to North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), C-Suite Equity Consulting (CSEC), The University of Texas at Arlington College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA), DesignJones LLC, and AquaGreen Global (AGG), whose dedication, funding, and expertise made this vision a reality.

Photos from the event capture the excitement as community members gathered to explore the new garden, learn about sustainable landscaping, and participate in educational activities for all ages. The Rain Garden not only enhances our neighborhood's natural beauty but serves as a model of sustainable development and community resilience.

We invite everyone to take a stroll through the Rain Garden and see firsthand the environmental impact this space will bring for years to come. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project, and together, let’s continue to build a thriving and sustainable community!
